Emotions impossible to express through words tried all participants in the reception organized by the Consulate General of Romania in Cahul to pay tribute to the end of the mandate of Her Excellency, Mrs. Consul General Anca CORFU, after 9 years full of achievements and successes. Among the guests were the Rector of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, prof. univ. dr. eng. Puiu-Lucian GEORGESCU.


Between October 19-20, an anniversary edition of the Danube Rectors' Conference Network took place at the West University of Timisoara, with the theme "Forty years of overcoming divisions: Importance of higher education for democracy and culture". "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati applied and was admitted to this organization, being now among the 65 members from all over Europe.


Within the series of conferences "DJUG – Scientific and Cultural Dialogues", the Faculty of Engineering invites you to a dialogue with distinguished professor Adrian BEJAN, the most titled living Romanian, the one who discovered the Constructal Law, being currently among the elite of the top 100 great scientists of the world. He is an Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy since 2011, Doctor Honoris Causa of 18 universities in the world and is among the top 100 most cited in the field of Engineering.


The opening ceremony of the University for Seniors, a pilot project started in 2016 by "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati for seniors, took place today, October 16, at 10:00, in the Amphitheater of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports. The courses will take place on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10:00-12:00.

Several dozen pensioners came to the opening, some excited as on the first day of school, even with flowers for teachers, but all happy to have the opportunity to study at a university.


October 16 marks the 77th anniversary since the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Quebec, Canada, since 1945. FAO established in 1979 that October 16 would mark World Food Day. Romania adopted October 16 as the National Day of Food and Food Waste Combat, through Law nr. 47/2016. Today, World Food Day is celebrated in more than 150 countries.

The Faculty of Food Science and Engineeringof "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati organizes between October 19-20, the International Euro-Food Symposium - Insights of Future Foods - From concepts and challenges to technological innovations. The biennial event has reached its 11th edition. The conference is attended by experts from 18 countries, such as: India, Iran, Poland, France, USA, Spain, Germany, Republic of Moldova, Morocco, Greece, Lithuania, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Austria, Ireland, Madagascar, and Romania.


The 101st edition of the Shipbuilders' Colloquiawill take place on Monday, 16.10.2023, starting at 11:00, on board of REXDAN. On this occasion, the presentation of the ship, research laboratories, envisaged projects and expected results will take place.

There will be presentations held by Prof. Leonard DOMNISORU, PhD, Lecturer Dan DRAGAN, PhD, and Associate Professor Sandita PACURARU, PhD, manager of the Research Center of the Faculty of Naval Architecture.


High school students from Buzau municipality are expected on Wednesday, October 18, at the Student #DJUG Educational Fair, organized in the Euro Campus building on Hangarului Street nr. 8. The educational fair will be open from 10.00 to 16.00. As always, the representatives of the faculties of the "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati will come in front of young people with interesting programs and specializations, unique experiments, artistic moments, and an hourly raffle, with prizes offered by Agrana, Cocorico, APAN and My Pencil.


The Immigration Service of Galati County organizes on Tuesday, October 17, between 11:00 and 12:00, an activity dedicated to foreigners studying in Romania regarding the conditions under which they can perform lucrative activities on the national territory. This activity, which will take place in Building D, Hall D13, will also be attended by representatives of ITM Galati.
