Multicultural and cross-border faculties have been established within the “Dunarea de Jos” Euroregion upon the “Treaty on Good Neighbouring Relations and Cooperation between Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine”, the Trilateral Collaboration Protocol between the Government of Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine signed at Izmail on the 4th of July 1997 and upon the European Framework Convention regarding the cross-border cooperation of the collective or territorial authorities signed in Madrid on the 21st of May 1980. Starting with 2010, there is the possibility of attending the courses simultaneously: also at Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu University of Cahul, and at “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galaţi - with schooling in Cahul. The curricula allow the mutual equivalence of some disciplines crossed in each of the two universities. During this period, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati provides the teaching staff (approximately 200 professors, of which: 45 university professors, 55 associate professors; 40 senior lecturers; assistants) who, according to the schedule, travels daily to Cahul. The teaching staff is completed with professors from B.P.Hashdeu State University of Cahul, the University of Physical Education and Sports in Chisinau and other university centers in the Republic of Moldova and Romania. By locating the city of Cahul only 65 km from Galaţi, there are optimal conditions for good functioning and further development of the faculties from Cahul within the “Dunarea de Jos” Euroregion, ensuring the education for students in Cahul, under the same conditions as those offered in the university centers in Romania. |
