In 1990 the Faculty of Economic and Legal Sciences was created within "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati. Starting with the academic year 1993–1994, the study program of Economic and Administrative Law is set up and then the name is subsequently changed to Public Administration and is accredited. The first study program in the field of Law begins to be carried out in the autumn of 1998. Because the education of legal and administrative profile was to a great extent disjointed from the education of economic profile in October 2005 the Faculty of Economic and Legal Sciences was divided into two faculties: the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economic Sciences. The new faculty is part of an evolution that knows a special dynamic in terms of the number of students and professors, in agreement with the increasing visibility and impact on the labor market of its graduates. The initiation of a policy to develop an area to cover academic, didactic and research determines the renaming of the faculty in the Faculty of Social, Political and Legal Science starting with 2009. The management plan elaborated in accordance with the mission of the Faculty of Social, Political and Legal Sciences is based on a series of values, representative for the areas of study that they coordinate: competence and professionalism, respect for the law, active involvement in the community’s life to respond promptly and appropriately to its requirements and aspirations. |
