Faculty of Automation, Computer Sciences, Electronics and Electrical Engineering was established by the Government Decision no. 631 of 30/06/2010 published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 578 of 8/16/2010. The Faculty was founded combining the Faculty of Computer Science with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The founding of the Faculty of Automation, Computer Sciences, Electronics and Electrical Engineering is part of an evolution that began in 1990, when the Faculty of Ships and Electrical Engineering was established. The Faculty of Ships and Electrical Engineering prepared, through long and short-term studies, specialists in the fields of: naval, electrical, electronic and automatic. The first study program in the field of Automation began to be carried out in the autumn of 1990. The first study program in the field of Computers was carried out from the autumn of 2000. Because the education of electrical, automatic and computer profiling was predominantly and largely disjointed from the education of naval profile, in October 2002 the Faculty of Ships and Electrical Engineering was divided into two faculties: the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Faculty of Ships. Due to administrative and strategic needs, in particular for electrical and electronic education, in 2011 the specialization of electrical profile and that of automatic and computer were reintegrated and the Faculty of Automation, Computer Sciences, Electronics and Electrical Engineering was established. |
