"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galatihosted, between February 7-8, 2024, the fourth transnational meeting within the Erasmus + DEBATE project, funded by the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE). The transnational meeting brought together representatives from all partner institutions of the project: ESIC University – Spain; "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati – Romania; Ensino Superior Empresarial, LDA. – Portugal; Asociación de innovación emprendimiento y tecnologias de la información y la comunicación (INNETICA) – Spain; Kultur Egitim ve Proje Dernegi – Turkey; and University of Peloponnese - Greece.
Continuing the upward evolution of the recent years, marked by achieving a historical maximum of publications indexed in Clarivate - Web of Science, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati ranked 10th nationally out of the 102 universities evaluated in the "Webometrics Ranking of World Universities", Edition 2024 (https://www.webometrics.info/en/Europe/Romania).
Thanks to the agreement signed between the Francophone University Agency (AUF) and "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, the students from the French Language and Literature, respectively Applied Modern Languages study programs of the Faculty of Letters have the chance to work in the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024 with Mr. Batzorig BEKHSUREN, French language trainee.
Between January 16-17, 2024, in Lodz, Poland, AKADEMIA HUMANISTYCZNO-EKONOMICZNA W LODZI, took place the third transnational meeting of the Erasmus + project Start a civil society organization at European level– CSO Admin, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati being the coordinator of this project.
The Workshop on "Digital technologies for interactive learning" took placeon January 26, 2024, an event organized by "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, through the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology, and the Faculty of Automation, Computer Sciences, Electronics andElectrical Engineering, in collaboration with Galati County School Inspectorate, Elementary School No. 28, and Elementary School "Mihail Sadoveanu" of Galati.
"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati has won three projects funded by Horizon Europe, one of which has already been contracted with, and the other two are in the contracting phase.
The first project won is called "Freight vOlumes transfer from Road to waterborne transport, using zero-EMission, Automated, Small and flexible vessel protoTypes – FOREMAST", and has as director Prof. Florin PACURARU, PhD. The implementation period is 48 months, and the allocated budget to DJUG is 209,000 euros, the institution acting as a partner.
The Executive Unit for Financing Higher Education, Research, Development, and Innovation (UEFISCDI) has finalized the monitoring and evaluation reports of exploratory research projects (PCE) carried out during 2021-2023. In this context, the project "Dynamics of REsources and Technological Advance in Extracting Renewable Energy from the Marine Environment – DREAM (PN-III-P4-ID-PCE-2020-0008), whose director is the academician, Prof. Eng. Eugen RUSU, PhD, director of the Council for Doctoral Studies (CSUD) of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, obtained the Excellent rating and was declared the most successful project in terms of scientific publications.
Between December 15-16th, 2023, the Faculty of Food Science and Engineering organized the workshop “Development of green skills - an essential requirement for a sustainable future in the milk industry”, within the ERASMUS AEDIL-CoVE European Dairy Excellence project, attended by 17 students from “Vasile Lovinescu” College from Falticeni, and 18 teachers from the “Technical College of Food Industry” in Suceava, “Dorna Candreni Technological High School”, “Petru Musat College” from Suceava, “Andronic Motrescu” College in Radauti, and “Vasile Lovinescu” College in Falticeni.
On December 15, 2023, occurred the closing of the conference of the project Integrated System for Complex Environmental Research and Monitoring in the Danube River area, REXDAN, contract no. 309/10.07.2020, SMIS code 2014+: 127065, project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund through the Competitiveness Operational Program 2014-2020, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati participated as beneficiary.
"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bucharest and the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Constanta, organized today, in the Senate Hall, an event dedicated to the Centenary of the Republic of Turkey and the celebration of 145 years of Turkish-Romanian diplomatic relations.
