Between October 28th – 30th, the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology within “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati will organize a series of events to mark 30 years since the fall of communism. Thus, on October 28th, at 10.00, room AS 004 (Str. Domneasca no. 111), historian Florian Banu, from Consiliul pentru Studierea Arhivelor Securității (National Council for Studying the Department of State Security Archives) will hold a lecture about Mihai Caraman, the most famous spy of Communist Romania, the one who managed to obtain well-kept secrets of NATO.

The International Conference "Conservation of Danube Sturgeons - a challenge or a burden?" this will be organized by "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati on October 28-30, 2019 and will gather in Galati over 100 experts who have proposed finding concrete solutions for the conservation and recovery of sturgeon populations in the Danube and the Black Sea, under the European Sturgeon Action Plan.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of philological studies in Galati, the Faculty of Letters organizes, on October 25th, 2019, at 11:00, in the Aula Magna, an anniversary colloquium, attended by former and current professors and students, specialists who contributed to the development of philological education at "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati.

BLUACT - BLUegrowthcities in ACTion - is a network of seven European port cities: Piraeus (Greece), Matosinhos (Portugal), Burgas (Bulgaria), Mataro (Spain), Ostend (Belgium), Galati (Romania) and Salerno (Italy) with the purpose of sharing good practices on entrepreneurship in the blue economy.

For the next three days, 16 – 18 October 2019, “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati will host the 4th edition of the UGAL INVENT Innovation and Research Exhibition. UGAL INVENT is an event that supports innovation at a national and international level and it is an opportunity for inventors to display their known works for the industrial environment and also for the public.
UGAL INVENT is a good opportunity to present innovative products and the perfect chance to build successful business relationships. This year, over 150 inventions and works have been registered for the competition.

Within the project “ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTIONS FOR STUDENTS” (CNFIS-FDI-2019-0309), between 07.10.2019 – 19.10.2019 the process of registration and selection of masters, doctoral students and graduates from “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati (2017 - 2019 promotions), who wish to attend the Expert Course on Accessing European Structural and Cohesion Funds.

The course is organized by the Student Entrepreneurship Society (SAS-UGAL) and the Lifelong Learning and Technical Transfer Department within “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati and is authorized by the National Authority for Qualifications (COR Code 242213). The course will take place between 28.10.2019 - 06.11.2019.

With the occasion of the French Teacher's Day, the Francophone University Agency initiates a creative writing contest entitled « Merci, mon prof! » ("Thank you, my teacher!") which takes place between October 3rd and November 11th, 2019.

The aim of this contest is to spotlight French professors, as well as those who teach a certain field of study in French, in AUF's member universities in Central and Eastern Europe. The contest addresses to students enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree programme in AUF's member universities in Central and Eastern Europe.

In the period 16-17 May 2019 it is organized the Cross-border Regional Workshop "Environmental Pollution of Aquatic Ecosystems of Danube-Black Sea Basin", at Institute of Zoology, Chisinau, Republic of Moldova – partner of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati in the Project code BSB27 MONITOX “Black Sea Basin interdisciplinary cooperation network for sustainable joint monitoring of environmental toxicants migration, improved evaluation of ecological state and human health impact of harmful substances, and public exposure prevention”, Joint Operational Programme BLACK SEA BASIN 2014-2020.
