"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, in cooperation with the International Federation of Physical Education and Sports (FIEPS) Romania, organizes the 17th FIEPS European Congress, between May 24-28, 2023. The Congress takes place simultaneously with the VII edition of the International Scientific Conference "Sport, Education, Culture – Interdisciplinary Approaches in Scientific Research" – SEC - IASR.
The Congress and Conference represent an excellent opportunity to bring together researchers, specialists, representatives of the academic, social, and economic environment in order to provide the necessary scientific framework to promote and develop new and valuable interdisciplinary research in the field.
"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, as a partner, contributes to the implementation of the innovative project EXPLORATIONS IN THE DIGITAL WORLD, together with Konya Il Milli Egitim Mudurlugu (Konya – Turkey), Zeki Altindag Ilkokulu (Konya – Turkey), Crhack Lab Foligno 4D (Umbria, Foligno – Italy), Fundacja Eduvibes (Łódzkie Skierniewice – Poland) and Istituto Comprensivo A. Gemelli (Puglia Leporano – Italy). The aim of the project is to use digital tools in primary education (WEB 2.0 and WEB 4.0).
Today, June 12, 2023, the rector of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, Prof. univ. dr. Eng. Puiu-Lucian GEORGESCU received the title of doctor honoris causa from the State University "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" from Cahul. This prestigious distinction was awarded to him in appreciation and recognition of his significant contributions to the development of education and research, both in Romania and abroad.
At the proposal of the Faculty of Automatic Control, Computers, Electrical Engineering and Electronics, the "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati will confer on Monday, June 12, the title of doctor honoris causa to the doctor of habilitat engineer Silviu-Iulian NICULESCU.

Between June 15-17, 2023, the ninth edition of the International Conference "History, Spirituality, Culture. Dialogue and Interactivity". The event is organized by the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology, the Center for East European Historical and Social-Cultural Studies, and the Center for Interdisciplinary Orthodox Theological Research "St. Three Hierarchs", in collaboration with numerous international partners.
The Senate of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati validated on the meeting of 23.05.2023 the result of the referendum for choosing the method of appointing the rector at the level of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, which took place on 18.05.2023.
The method of appointing the rector of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati for the 2024-2028 term is "based on general elections, by universal, direct, secret and equal suffrage", for this option opting 90.3% of the people who went to the polls.
The Ministry of Investments and European Projects hosted on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, the first meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Just Transition Program 2021-2027. "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, as a member of this monitoring committee, was represented by the vice-rector with the research, development, innovation activity and the partnership with the economic and social environment, prof. dr. Based on the partnership concluded between "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati and the Ministry of Education of Turkey, partnership initiated and mediated by Gulten Abdula NAZARE, president of the Turkish Democratic Union - Galati branch, the Faculty of Letters organizes, between June 26 and July 21, 2023, the Summer School "Introduction to Turkish language, culture and civilization".
The summer school courses will be taught by lecturer Mehmet KOCAKAPLAN from Marmara University in Istanbul and are addressed to students and teachers of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati who want to get acquainted with elementary notions of theTurkish language and discover interesting aspects related to Turkish culture and civilization.
