Within the Program for increasing the performance and innovation in excellence doctoral and postdoctoral research project – PROINVENT – contract no. 62487/03.06.2022 POCU/993/6/13 - Code SMIS: 153299, on Friday, March 31, starting at 10:30 a.m., the nine partners in the consortium, the doctoral and postdoctoral students will meet in a workshop that will take place in the format hybrid, in the Panoramic Hall of the Mercure Galati Centrum hotel as well as via TEAMS.


On Friday, March 24, 2023, The Cross-Border Faculty withn the „Dunărea de Jos” University of Galati has inaugurated the Romanian-Ukrainian Cultural Centre, a body that conforms to the cross-border specific of the faculty that targets academic communities of the two countries involved in advertising and capilatisation of the Romanian and Ukrainian cultural heritage with the aim of maintaining an inter relationship with the perspective of the geographical and geopolitic conditions.


The ION project is a technological and research initiative developed pro bono by Artificial Intelligence experts from Romania in collaboration with the best Romanian researchers and professors. ION will represent the missing link in real-time communication between citizens and governments, a system that will use artificial intelligence to quickly and automatically capture the opinions of Romanians everywhere to help them be heard.


Starting this year, students, and teaching staff from the Faculty of Letters of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, can study the Italian language and culture. Carla Alexa Dodi is an Italian language and literature lecturer who came to Galati to befriend the philologists with the language of Dante, Petrarch, and Boccaccio.


International Mother Language Day is celebrated annually on February 21, to promote cultural and linguistic diversity around the world. The chosen date commemorates the students who lost their lives in 1952, being shot by the police for demanding the official recognition of the language of the native population of eastern Pakistan.

It was proclaimed at the UNESCO General Conference on November 17, 1999 and was celebrated for the first time by the United Nations Organization in 2000. Later the UN General Assembly, through the resolution of May 16, 2007, invited member states "to promote the conservation and the protection of all languages used by the peoples of the world".


"Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati was the host of the "Disinformation and Propaganda - risk factors in international economic relations" Conference, organized by the Euro-Atlantic Center for Resilience, with disinformation being the main topic of debate.

The Rector of the University, Professor Puiu Lucian Georgescu Ph.D., was the moderator of the conference during which the Minister of Economy, Florin Spătaru, Iulian Chifu - Councilor of State, Lucian Rusu - general director at Walter Tosto Romania spoke in the panel I - Susceptibility to misinformation of some topic’s major economic interests.


Between January 26-27, 2023, the first transnational meeting of Erasmus + project partners, start a civil society organization at European level CSO Admin, took place in Porto, Portugal.

In addition to the representatives of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galaţi, the Spanish partners from the Jaume I de Castellon University of Spain and the Asociacion de innovacion emprendimiento y tecnologias de la y la comunicacion (INNETICA), from Cyprus from SEAL Cyprus were present -Cyprus Organization for Sustainable Education and Active Learning, from Portugal from the Business Intelligence Association and from Poland from Akademia Humanistyczno-Ekonomiczna w Lodzi.


The "Romanian Research Gala" will have its first edition this year, on January 31, at the Romanian Athenaeum, starting at 5:00 p.m. During the festivity will be awarded the most valuable Romanian researchers from the country and outside her borders. "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati will be represented by University Professor Eugen Rusu, Ph.D., who was designated one of the eight finalists in the category of experienced researchers.


The Rector of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, Professor, Ph.D.  Puiu-Lucian GEORGESCU participated today, December 28th, in the signing of the contract regarding the realization of the feasibility study for Galati airport. Together with the president of the Galati County Council, Costel FOTEA, the president of the Braila County Council, Francisk Iulian CHIRIAC, and the representatives of the companies that will carry out the study.
