Recently, "Lucian Blaga" Central University Library in Cluj-Napoca, Crossref's partner in Romania, was classified by it as a "Sponsoring Organization". Under those circumstances, all institutions collaborating with "Lucian Blaga" Central University Library, for the allocating of “DOI” identifiers,become voting members, which puts them on the international "map" of publishers of scientific publications Crossref.

Crossref is a nonprofit organization with an open digital infrastructure for the international academic research community.

Starting with 2018, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati has developed an online platform for its scientific journals. The following year, in 2019, DJUG started collaborating with "Lucian Blaga" University Library in Cluj-Napoca, the Romanian institution is the partner of the international organization Crossref, for the allocation of DOI (Digital Object Identifier) identifiers to the scientific papers of the university's research, thus giving greater visibility to research work in the university.
