Within the series of conferences "DJUG – Scientific and Cultural Dialogues", the Faculty of Engineering invites you to a dialogue with distinguished professor Adrian BEJAN, the most titled living Romanian, the one who discovered the Constructal Law, being currently among the elite of the top 100 great scientists of the world. He is an Honorary Member of the Romanian Academy since 2011, Doctor Honoris Causa of 18 universities in the world and is among the top 100 most cited in the field of Engineering.

The event will take place on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 13:00, at the Faculty of Engineering, Science Campus, Building D, classroom D12.

Adrian BEJAN is a university professor with important contributions in the field of thermodynamics. After his studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he began his research career at the University of California, Berkeley, continued it at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and in 1984 was appointed professor at Duke University, where he currently holds the position of "Distinguished Professor".

He is the author of numerous specialized articles and books, including: Entropy Generation through Heat and Fluid Flow, Convection Heat Transfer, Advanced Engineering Thermodynamics, Entropy Generation Minimization, Shape and Structure from Engineering to Nature, Design with Constructal Theory, Design in Nature: How the Constructal Law Governs Evolution in Biology, Technology and Social Organization and The Physics of Life: The Evolution of Everything.

The distinguished professor was awarded the Benjamin Franklin Medal, the Humboldt Prize, the Award of the Turkish Academy of Sciences, and in 2020 he was conferred by the President of France with the title of Chevalier of the Order of Palmes Académiques.
