Registration for the Romanian Preparatory Year for foreign citizens of European Union states
Required documents:
1. Application form for the Letter of Acceptance, the candidate's commitment, as well as the consent statement regarding the processing of personal data, filled in entirely:

2. Baccalaureate (High school) diploma – legalized copy:
- copy if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian;
- copy and legalized translation (in original) in Romanian for documents issued in other foreign languages.
3. Academic record for the IX-XII/XIII grades:
- copy if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian;
- copy and legalized translation (in original) in Romanian for documents issued in other foreign languages.
4. Other documents:
- certificate of passing the final high school exam from Italy;
- Pruebas de Aptitud para el Acceso a la Universidad, calificación Apto from Spain;
- Panellinies Exetaseis – certificate for the national exams for general high school from Greece;
- certificate issued by Verket för högskoleservice regarding the access to university studies from Sweden;
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) from the United States of America;
- copy and legalized translation (in original) in Romanian for documents issued in other foreign languages.
5. Copy after personal identification documents:
- Passport;
- ID document;
- Proof of name change (if necessary), (Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian) (legalized translation for other foreign languages);
6. 3 ID photos;
7. Proof of payment the tax for assessing the file – 60 RON
The taxes can be paid at the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas cash desk (Monday to Thursday business hours between 9:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:00) or through Payment order / Postal Order / Bank Transfer in the following account:

The taxes in euro are calculated at the exchange rate RON – EUR displayed by the National Bank of Romania from the day the bank transfer is made.
ATTENTION: The IBAN code, the name of the holder of the study document and the name of the employer requesting recognition (if applicable) must be written on the payment order or on the issued postal mandate.
For states that are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, the study documents subject to equivalence / recognition must be endorsed with the Hague Apostille by the competent authorities of the issuing countries. Study documents from Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus will have the Hague Convention Apostille, while the other EU member states are exempted.
Original diplomas issued in states that are NOT part of the Hague Convention Apostille will be authenticated by:
- the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the issuing country, the Embassy/ the Consular Office of Romania in the issuing country and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania or by;
- the Ministry of National Education from the issuing country, the Embassy/ the Consular Office of the issuing country in Romania and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
- exemption from authentication is allowed under the law of an international treaty to which Romania is part of or based on reciprocity.
