Information regarding the registration for the admission procedure for citizens from European Union member states, citizens from the European Economic Space and from the Swiss Confederation
Citizens from European Union member states, citizens from the European Economic Space and from the Swiss Confederation have access to all study programmes under the same condition provided by the law as Romanian citizens, after recognizing their studies carried out in their country of origin.
The study recognition is done by the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas.
PREPARATORY YEAR
Since in “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati the teaching language is Romanian, foreign citizens from European Union member states will be registered for undergraduate and postgraduate studies only after graduating the Romanian language preparatory year on the basis of a certificate proving Romanian linguistic competences. During the preparatory year the candidates will learn the necessary Romanian language vocabulary as well as the specific vocabulary needed for the future studies (anatomy, physics, chemistry, etc.).
To be able to attend the preparatory year, a candidate from an EU member state should first have his/her high school diploma evaluated by the Romanian Ministry of Education.
The fee for the Romanian Preparatory Year is 1980 euros.

2. Baccalaureate (High school) diploma – certified copy:
- copy if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian;
- copy and legalised translation (in original) in Romanian for documents issued in other foreign languages.
3. High school transcript of records – certified translation:
- copy if the study document is issued in Romanian, English, French, Spanish, Italian;
- copy and legalised translation (in original) in Romanian for documents issued in other foreign languages.
4. Birth certificate – certified translation;
5. Passport – copy;
6. Medical certificate - in an international language - confirming that the person who is going to enroll does not suffer from contagious diseases or other conditions incompatible with the future profession.
7. Invoice of the file processing fee 50 RON.

Submitting the documents for enrolling at master’s studies
The file is submitted to the university where the enrolment is requested or the ministry’s Registry office, Monday to Thursday business hours between 9:00 – 12:00 and 14:00 – 16:00 and Friday between 09:00 – 11:00 or by mail: The Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research Registry office, Str. Spiru Haret no. 10, sector 1, 010176, Bucharest, Romania.

2. The study document for equivalence / recognition:
- copy if the document is in Romanian / English / French/ Spanish / Italian;
- copy and legalised translation in Romanian for other foreign languages.
3. Diploma supplement / Transcript of Records or any other study document which shows the academic results – in case the recognition of the study programme is requested or the field of study is not mentioned on the diploma:
- copy if the document is in Romanian / English / French/ Spanish / Italian;
- copy and legalised translation in Romanian for other foreign languages.
Original diplomas issued in states that are not part of the Hague Convention Apostille will be authenticated by:
- the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the issuing country, the Embassy/ the Consular Office of Romania in the issuing country and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania or by;
- the Ministry of National Education from the issuing country, the Embassy/ the Consular Office of the issuing country in Romania and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
5. In order to profess a regulated profession: the analytical programmes of the courses taken, full description of the courses / subjects studied, documents related to postgraduate courses, etc.: copy for Romanian / English / French/ Spanish / Italian and copy and legalised translation for the other foreign languages.
6. Personal ID document – copy: passport – copies of pages 1, 2, 3, 4 or another ID document proving the citizenship of a member state of the European Union, the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation;
7. File assessment fee: 50 RON – copy of the proof of the payment: on the receipt / payment order / postal order the diploma’s holder name will be mentioned, the same as in the study document.
The taxes can be paid at the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas cash desk (Monday to Thursday business hours between 9:00 – 12:00 and 13:00 – 15:00) or through Payment order / Postal Order / Bank Transfer in the following account:

The taxes in euro are calculated at the RON - EUR exchange rate displayed by the National Bank of Romania from the day the bank transfer is made.
Important: On the payment order or on the postal order the beneficiary’s IBAN code, the name of the holder of the study document and the name of the employer requesting the recognition (if it is the case) must be written.
File assessment
Within a maximum of 30 days from the submission date of the complete file the National Center for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas will assess and communicate the decision.
This deadline can be extended appropriately in case of additional checks or consulting external experts.
Until the time of completion, the files that do not meet the following conditions are not processed:
- contain all the documents specified in the published list;
- all the fields in the standardized form must be filled in.
