On June 18, 2024, the 7th edition of the National Final of the Ma thèse en 180 secondes competition took place at the Technical University of Constructions in Bucharest. The event was organized by the University Agency of the Francophonie in Central and Eastern Europe and the French Institute of Romania.

This international competition aims to promote Cycle 3 training and disseminate research in French. This year, 15 doctoral students from 8 AUF member universities presented their doctoral research topics in 3 minutes, using language accessible to a diverse and non-specialized audience.

In this edition "Dunărea de Jos" University of Galati was represented by Mrs. Mihaela Știubianu, a PhD student in Philology (Romanian literature), and Mrs. Ionica Vasile (Stupariu), a PhD student in the Doctoral School of Socio-Human Sciences, Philology (French). Their scientific coordinator, Professor Alina Ganea, PhD, guided them throughout their research. Mrs. Ionica Vasile won the third prize with her presentation on the reflection of feminine vs. masculine gender in discourse and the feminist militant discourse on equal opportunities and the defense of women's rights. Her work received high praise from both the jury and the audience, earning her prestigious recognition.
