The 2023 edition of the University Metaranking, a ranking made independently by a group of experts from several higher education institutions, brings "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati to the 11th position, with 6 points, along with the University of Oradea, "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu and "George Emil Palade" University of Targu Mures.

The Metaranking is built based on the main international rankings in which Romanian universities participate, based on the Methodology for carrying out the national Metaranking exercise established by the Ministry of Education, being published by the Qualitas Center of UBB.

The results of the excellent research obtained this year, with a significant increase compared to 2022 (position 19 - 5.18 points) confirm the prestige of "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, the most important academic institution in the SE Region of Romania. Compared to the 2019 ranking, in which "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati registered 1 point, the increase is 600%.
