On Saturday, October 28, 2023, at the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology of the "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, the "Green Horizon" conference took place, organized by Ioana Christiana Mitea and Raluca Mihoci, representatives of the Romanian Youth Delegation to the United Nations.

The event considered the causal relationship between climate change and natural disasters, but also related discussions on these topics.

At the beginning of the conference, Professor Arthur Viorel Tuluș, PhD, Dean of the Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology, welcomed the participants, making a bridge between the conference theme and the study program "International Relations and European Studies", within the institution he leads, through the prism of common concerns at international level for such a topic.

The issue of climate change and the causal link with natural disasters was presented by Mrs. Carmen Andrei, environmental expert, and former deputy director general of the Regional Environment Agency Galati.

The issue of crisis management related to natural disasters was approached by Mr. Radu Murea, president of the Association for Training in Emergency Situations – UVSAR, who stood out with the presentation of the intervention of the members of the Association to save human lives in the context of the disaster caused by the earthquake in Turkey, in February 2023, intervention that involved saving 21 people.

The last level of discussion included the intervention of Miss Teodora Vlad, psychologist expert, who considered addressing the population's reactions in stressful situations in general and managing them in the context of natural disasters.
