Discreetly, just as he lived, the torch of life of Professor Aurel Stoian was extinguished. The professor graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of "Al. I. Cuza" University of Iasi in 1959, being part of a golden promotion of the Faculty of Chemistry. He was a distinguished master who, through an academic life in Truth, Good and Beauty, polished the consciences of many disciples.

He was a great teacher, loving husband, and father, very well trained, modest, appreciated, a very good and respected colleague. Until 1990, he was a professor at the Department of Chemistry within the Faculty of Food Technology and Chemistry and Fisheries Technology.

He has been a professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Letters and Sciences since 1990 and then since 1998 at the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Sciences. He taught General Chemistry and Physical Chemistry at Chemistry, Ships and Engineering. He was a very good theorist, with depth, in the field of physical chemistry.
