”Dunarea de Josț” University of Galati signed, as early as 20.02.2023, a "Memorandum of Understanding" with Avesta Battery & Energy Engineering (ABEE) that aims to promote innovation in the educational sector.
Also, the University will provide staff training and professional reconversion programs dedicated to the new technology, aligning with the European Commission's strategy in the fields of battery cell production for electric vehicles.

Romvoltis a project consisting of a lithium-ion battery factory to be built in Galati, with a total production capacity of 22 GWh and a total investment of 1.4 billion euros. It will supply battery cells mainly for the automotive industry, where Renault/Dacia and Ford are located in Romania, but also for the stationary market, as storage is necessary for the transition to renewable energy.
The factory will create thousands of jobs in different departments, plus jobs created indirectly.
Avesta Battery & Energy Engineering (ABEE)is a Belgian energy engineering company that registered, in Romania, the ABEE subsidiary as a "daughter" company to carry out the Romvolt project.
