1520 budgeted undergraduate places are available for the 2023 Admission at "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, the same as last year. For tuition, the 14 faculties have 1767 places at their disposal. Special spaces were also provided for this year's admission for graduates with a baccalaureate diploma coming from the social protection system, those from rural areas, but also for those who graduated from one faculty at DJUG and want to follow the second.
 
Most budgeted places go to the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy (270). Next, in descending order: Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (219), Faculty of Automation, Computers, Electrical Engineering and Electronics (195), Faculty of Engineering (145), Faculty of Physical Education and Sports (114), Faculty of Engineering and Agronomy of Braila (103) and Faculty of History, Philosophy and Theology (100). The Cross-Border Faculty has at the summer admission, 312 budget places with scholarship, intended for Romanians abroad. The Faculty of Naval Architecture, unique in the country, has prepared 55 budget places this year, as well as the Faculty of Sciences and Environment and the Faculty of Food Science and Engineering. Less than 100 budgeted places are in Law and Administrative Sciences (94), Letters (85) and Arts (30).

New study programs at DJU
This year, the Faculty of Engineering proposes to high school graduates a new study program: Digital Production Systems, which have allocated 20 places to the budget, and the Cross-border Faculty puts up for competition 50 places for the study program Kinesiotherapy and Special Motricity (Chisinau). At the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, 45 places are available for foreign students who want to study Medicine in English.

Admission calendar
The first stage is to register candidates, online (July 6-10) or physically (July 10-22, 2023). For the Faculties: Physical Education and Sports / Arts / History, Philosophy and Theology (Theology, Visual Arts fields), where aptitude tests are held, the calendar for Stage I is as follows: July 10-21 online registrations and at specially arranged centers, July 22-24 conducting the elimination tests. The candidates declared admitted must submit the original baccalaureate diploma by July 28, 10:00. After this date, the Second Stage of Summer Admission begins.
The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy has its own admission calendar: July 10-22 - online registrations and at specially arranged centers, July 25-26 - admission tests, July 26-27 - displaying results and solving possible appeals, July 27-31 - submitting baccalaureate diplomas in original (final deadline for submitting diplomas - July 31, 12:00).
Admission to the Cross-Border Faculty is also carried out a little differently: July 24-28 - online registrations and at specially arranged centers, July 27-28 - conducting elimination and competition tests for study programs that require this, July 29 displaying results and solving appeals, July 30-31 submission of baccalaureate diplomas in original (final deadline for submitting diplomas July 31, 12:00).

At almost all faculties, admission is based on file, the share of the baccalaureate average oscillating between 50 and 100%, depending on the specifics of each. The exam is organized only at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy, which consists of a multiple-choice test.  Olympians with recognized performances at international competitions and high school graduates who have obtained distinctions at school Olympics, artistic or sports competitions at national or international level can be admitted to higher education at undergraduate studies, without admission competition. Both during registration and during the admission tests, candidates can stay in Student Dormitory A from "Al. I. Cuza" Complex – Str. Domneasca no. 115.

Facilities of admission
The following are exempt from paying the registration fee for admission to bachelor's and master's degree studies: orphans of both parents, those coming from children's homes or from the family placement system, children of teachers from institutions belonging to the Ministry of Education and aged up to 26 years; active teachers. Also, children of teaching, auxiliary and non-teaching staff in activity or retired, as well as children orphaned by one or both parents who worked in the education system and who are up to 26 years old are exempted from paying the registration fees for the admission contest and benefit from free accommodation in dormitories.

Candidates for the 2023 admission, whose parents are graduates of the "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, benefit from a discount of 50 lei on the payment of the registration fee, for a single competition file. They must present, when registering, a copy of their parent's graduation certificate. DJUG graduates, who enroll in the second bachelor's degree program, full-time education, benefit from a 50% discount from the tuition fee for the entire period of study, within the limit of maximum 10% of the number of candidates admitted per faculty. The registration fee is 200 lei for each faculty this year. Candidates with disabilities may request, upon registration, that the exam, the correction grid, or the conduct of the competition tests be adapted to their disability.
Candidates from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds or socially marginalized, including graduates of high schools in rural areas or cities with less than 10,000 inhabitants, but also candidates coming from the social protection system can benefit from several budgeted places, under the law. "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati provides, for this category of students, free educational and professional guidance, and counseling services.
