The "Romanian Research Gala" will have its first edition this year, on January 31, at the Romanian Athenaeum, starting at 5:00 p.m. During the festivity will be awarded the most valuable Romanian researchers from the country and outside her borders. "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati will be represented by University Professor Eugen Rusu, Ph.D., who was designated one of the eight finalists in the category of experienced researchers.

This first edition is intended to be the beginning of a traditional event by which to recognize the special merits and exceptional results in the field of research, and applied projects, as well as the potential to anticipate and address the challenges of the future.

The representatives of the organizer, namely the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digitalization, say that "the principle from which we start is better more for fewer, than less for more, which implies prioritizing investments, recognizing excellence and Romania's chance to value the top human resource".
"It is an honor for us that, together with two other universities from Romania, we are alongside the universities of Arizona, MIT, or Harvard Medical School", said University Professor Eugen Rusu, Ph.D.

The jury was formed by representatives of governmental and non-governmental institutions, with expertise in the field of scientific research. Awards will be given for research and innovation to individual researchers and research teams in two categories: Experienced Researchers and Young Researchers.
