At the 26th edition of the International Invention Show INVENTICA 2022 in Iasi, organized by "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iaşi and the National Institute of Invention Iasi. The Faculty of Food Science and Engineering within "Dunărea de Jos University" of Galați participated with a new product based on mayonnaise, starting from the tendency of consumers to opt for the consumption of natural products without the addition of additives.

A group of teachers and Ph.D. students, Lazăr Silvia (Mistreanu) Ph.D., Lecturer Georgiana Horincar Ph.D., Professor Gabriela Râpeanu Ph.D., Lecturer Doina Georgeta Andronoiu Ph.D., Professor Nicoleta Stănciuc Ph.D., Associate Professor Oana Emilia Constantin Ph.D., created mayonnaise with the addition of powder from beetroot peel, a value-added product, under the name of Mayobeet . By adding powder obtained from beetroot peel, the product is enriched in compounds with high biological value, natural, which gives mayonnaise protection against oxidative processes, and consuming value-added mayonnaise brings many benefits to the body. In addition, mayonnaise is enriched with red pigments, thus acquiring a reddish color, attractive to consumers, a color whose tint intensity varies depending on the added powder content.

"Mayonnaise with the addition of red beet peel powder - value-added product and technology" was awarded the Gold Medal, Diploma of Honor at the International Salon of Inventions, INVENTICA 2022, Iasi, and Lecturer Georgiana Horincar Ph.D., won the special prize "Young Inventor". The product also obtained the Diploma of Excellence and a medal from the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest.
