The Faculty of Automation, Computer Sciences, Electronics, and Electrical Engineering, was successfully represented at the fourth edition of the "PIC4ALL Microcontroller Contest", organized by the Maritime University of Constanța in collaboration with Microchip, on May 13, 2022. This year's edition was a hybrid, the participants being undergraduate and master's students from universities in Constanta, Galati, Iasi, and Bucharest.
The system was implemented using a series of sensors (humidity, temperature, water level, etc.) to measure the various parameters necessary for the survival of a plant. An Android application that communicates via Bluetooth with a microcontroller development platform has also been developed for monitoring and control.
The second team built a humanoid robot and earned a Mention. The project is based on 19 servomotors that give the robot mobility and speed of movement. All pieces were printed by students on a 3D printer. The humanoid "friend" can perform human-like movements. The team leader was also Lecturer Mihaela Andrei, Ph.D.
