The second and third-year students from the specializations of the Faculty of Naval Architecture from "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati participated yesterday in a meeting with representatives of the Damen Galați Shipyard. "In classroom D 01, we had guests from Damen, who told the young people about the opportunities of a career at the Shipyard and the possibility to be supported during the academic year with private scholarships if they have good results at school. We are glad that Damen's private scholarship program has resumed after the pandemic period, and we are waiting for student’s CV's for pre-selection, said Associate Professor Gabriel Popescu, Ph.D. Dean of the Faculty of Naval Architecture".

Damen offers 18-month scholarships for second-year students respectively 9-month scholarships for third-year students. Also, scholarship students could work during the summer as technicians. And after graduation, individual employment contracts are concluded for at least two years with the Shipyard. The condition is that the scholarship holders should fully promote all the credits in all the educational disciplines, until the end of each academic year, and the graduation average should be minimal.
