On 07.10.2021, the REXDAN ship's keel-laying ceremony took place in Giurgiu. On this occasion, "Dunărea de Jos" University of Galați received the "birth certificate" of the ship REXDAN. This will be the biggest research vessel on the European Union's inland waters. The ship will have nine modern laboratories in which teachers and researchers from our university, as well as international researchers, will work.
 

The financing of the construction of the research ship and its endowment with state-of-the-art research equipment is realized through the project "Integrated system for research and complex monitoring of the environment in the Danube river area" REXDAN, co-financed by the Operational Program Competitiveness, call: POC / 448/1 / 1 / Large CD infrastructures. The total value of the project is 91,972,096.30 lei.
