The Rector of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, Professor Puiu-Lucian GEORGESCU, Ph.D., and the Vice-rector for University strategies and partnership with students, Associate professor Ciprian VLAD, Ph.D., were on February 18 at a work meeting with the representatives of Yazaki Romania, the subsidiary in Braila of the Japanese concern. The university’s management discussed with the representatives of the company aspects concerning the company’s need for specialized staff and hiring the university’s graduates, plus developing study programs adapted to the profile of the Japanese company.
 
The work meeting was completed with a visit of the factory, in which the representatives of the university were presented the modern technologies applied in the production of electrical wiring, the company's partnerships and the range of finished products, intended mainly for export.
 
The meeting between the two parties aims to prepare a framework agreement for the development of a strategic partnership between the Yazaki Braila branch, the largest private employer in the Municipality of Braila, and “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati.
 
With a tradition of over 80 years in the production of automotive components, Yazaki Corporation has branches in 44 countries and 448 locations. Yazaki Romania is one of the main employers in the domestic automotive industry. In our country, the first Yazaki factory was opened in 2003 in the Ploiesti Industrial Park, followed by the branches in Caracal (2011) and Braila (2015).
